Opt-in list
The opt-in list is like a box you put on your site to collect e-mails exactly like the autoresponder but in another way. If you want to create a successful opt-in list, provide your subscribers quality information. You can send them an ezine. An ezine can be a newsletter or a report that is sent to your subscribers weekly, monthly, or at whatever interval you find best.
Free Newsletter:
Name:
_______________
E-mail: _______________
Sign me up
This is the standard form of the opt-in list. It is placed at the border of the site page. Of course you have to install a script in your site page to permit the opt-in list to work.
Put a form that contains input fields: one for the subscriber's name and one for the subscriber's e-mail address on your Web site.
For more subscribers you may put your sign-up box on every page of your Web site.
It's recommended to offer free stuff to your subscribers. For example, you may create an e-book that contains important information and give it away to subscribers of your newsletter.
You will need to set up a pop mail account on your server just for your list. You will need to create two e-mail aliases for subscription requests. Examples: Yourlist@unsubscribe@ourdomain.com and subscribe@yourdomain.com.
Your database
Set up a database for your opt-in list. In the database you may organize your subscribers' e-mails. You can use any e-mail program to accomplish this.
It's a good idea to make two lists of your subscribers: the first for prospects and the other for the customers who have ordered a product from you so you will not send them the same product offers repeatedly.
Here are some important points to remember to:
Add a line in your e –mail letters to remind people how they subscribed to your list, because many people will not remember all the services for which they have signed up.
You must give your subscribers an option to be removed from your newsletter by providing a link in your e-mails or on your Web site. For example add the following sentence at the end of your e-mails: "To stop additional follow-up messages click below: - the link.” Put a link here that automatically removes those people from your database.
It is best to write a privacy policy under the box of the opt-in e-mail:-
IE: - privacy policy: we respect your privacy and won't share your e-mail address with any third party.
Search the sites for script codes to get free opt-in scripts. They offer many free scripts you can download from there instantly.
