Reciprocal links

Reciprocal links are another great way to help you increase your Web site traffic and boost your ranking in search engines.

To begin, write some keywords that people would use to search for your site. Visit one of the top search engines like Google or Altavista. Try more than one search engine, and don't use search engine programs (you can use the search engine programs to be familiar with the top search engines). Then write one of your keywords to find relevant sites. Visit the top listed Web sites to find whether you have direct competition and how relevant their sites are to yours.

If you find such a site, send a quick e-mail to the manager. Here's an example that you can follow:

Subject="question about reciprocal links"

Hello (name if you have it, if not, this site whois can help you find the owner name of the site). I visited your Web site at http://www.theirsite.com and noticed that your content is similar in subject to my own site.

Would you be willing to provide a link to my site at http://yoursite.com and I'll put one for your site on mine? (I like your site so I'll likely put up a link to your site anyway).

I've heard that some of the search engines place huge importance on how many sites links to others, so it would be a beneficial for both of us to link to each other. Please let me know, so I can make sure to put up your link on my site.

Sincerely,

Your name

http://www,yoursite.com

you@yoursite.com

There area also reciprocal links directories, where you can submit your site link and look for sites to exchange links with. At these sites you can find Webmasters who are willing to trade reciprocal links with you.
