Web Rings
Web Rings are groups of sites with similar
content that have gotten together to help each other increase their
traffic. The idea is everybody who participates in the Web Ring
places some special code on their site which allows visitors to jump
to any of the other sites.
Sometimes Web Rings can be very effective, if the sites are truly
related, are good quality, and have traffic. On the other hand, if
everybody in the Web Ring has poor quality Web sites or few
visitors, linking between them is not likely to help much.
The main downside to joining a Web Ring is that you have to put the
linking code on your site, usually on the main page - and if you
join more than one, add code for each Ring that you join. So, it's a
good idea to be selective in deciding which Web Rings to join.
